Voyager
For my class project in Art 346: Basic Graphic Design, titled "Voyager," I explored the grid system in both print and digital formats. The assignment required me to create a printed broadsheet measuring 29.5" x 23.5" using InDesign, where I integrated multi-column layouts, typography, and imagery.
In addition to the broadsheet, I designed six mock-up screens for a digital news app, each sized 2556 pixels tall by 1179 pixels wide. Each screen includes at least one headline, a subheading, an image, a button, and a menu. I also created an app icon for the news app.
Content and Reflection.
The filler text for the broadsheet was sourced from various news and pop culture publications. While no specific theme was required for the broadsheet content, I chose to make it similar to that of National Geographic Almanacs.
This project allowed me to explore the application of the grid system across different media while enhancing my design skills in layout and typography.
